RACS - the Research Association for Creation and Science - is please to host an "innovative discussion on the origin of life". Entitled "Unlocking the Mystery of Life" the discussion will look at some of the new ideas emerging about 'intelligent design' and the challenge they pose to Darwinisn.
RACS [Research Association for Creation and Science] is a society at KAIST interested in exploring questions related to the connection between creationism and science and the views that are being put forward under the proposition of "intelligent design'. 
The guitarist An hyungSu and friends will stage a perfomance of music and dance entitle "Tango and Waltz" at 7:30 on the 1st of November in the lobby of the Mechanical Engineering Building at KAIST. Music for the cocert will include music from Handel, Roland Dyens, de Cano, Piazolla, Jonge Candoso & Carlos Gardel.
The 2007 Ramadan Quiz has become a special activity every Ramadan for both Koreans and its guests from around the world. The aim of the Quiz is to increase the knowledge of Islam in general and of Ramadam in particular. The KAIST Islamic Society will be presenting the Film Children of Heaven. Nominated for the for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998, it deals with a brother and sister and their adventures over a lost pair of shoes, while also touching upon the more serious subject of the political situation in Iran as well as class differences between the rich and the poor and daily urban life. One of the most important films in Iranian [and therfore World Cinema], and directed by one of Iran's most important Directors - Majid Majidi - Children of Heaven is a 'must see' film experience.%5B1%5D.jpg)
Jin Joong Kwon [aka Chin Jung Kwon]was born in 1963 and graduated from Seoul National University in 1994. Currently an adjunct Professor in KAIST CT, Professor Jin is also a prominent cultural critic who came into prominance recently with his criticism of one of the most popular Korean films of recent years, "D-Day".Professor Jin will be at the Terman Hall in the Creative Learning Building on Wednesday the 31st of October where he will deliver a talk entitle : "Digital Pastimes". Please try and get there early [there is sure to be a big crowd] and please turn off your mobile phone once the talk begins.
Aim: The aim of this exhibition is to inform the public about the relationship between industry and education at KAIST. The exhibition will highlight research and development in order to facilitate their relationship and speed up the prgress of both. The exhibition will also involve the participation of students from Science High Schools.

The Daejeon Chorus conducted by Lim Chang Eun will perform a concert in celebration of the passing of Autumn at the Daejeon Arts & Culture Hall.
Korean American Violinist along with the guitar-duo of Lee Song U and Oliver Fartach-Naini will perform a concert of Music by Franz Schubert to mark the beginning of Winter. Among the items on the program will the Sonata for Arpegginne and Pinao in A minor; Nacht und Traume; and Schubert Winterreise - all copsed by Franz Schubert and performed by Viola and Guitar Du.
Kang Kyeong Seung will perform a viola recital with violinist Suh Sae Won and the Arco Diabolo Chamber Orchestra. Among the items on the program will be: Les Larmes du Jacqueline [J. Offenbach]; Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola in E flat Major, k.364 [W.A.Mozart]; and, Concerto in A minor op.129 [R. Schumann].
Pianist Kim Tae Young will perform a Piano Recital at the Daejeon Arts & Culture Centre. Among the items on the program will be: Gavotte in A Minor [J.P. Rameau]; Piano Sonata Op.53, No.21 in C Major 'Waldstein'[L.v. Beethoven]; and, Ballade No.s in A flat Major Op.47. 
Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus will be staged at the Daejeon Culture and Arts Center from the 25th to the 28th of October. Created by the waltz king Johann Strauss, Die Fledermaus is "the dizzyingly silly story of Eisenstein who would rather party than go to gaol; his wife Rosalinde who is keen to teach him a lesson; and their pert maid Adele, whose eye for the main chance is unwavering. Then there are the high society types who move with ease between ballroom and prison cell."
KAIST CT and the New York Film Academy is excited to announce a Four-Week Hands-On Intensive Digital Filmmaking Workshop in Seoul, Korea starting January 4, 2008. During the Four-week Digital Film Making Workshop, participants will write, shoot, direct, and edit their own short films. Their teachers attempt to "demystify the craft of digital filmmaking production" and challenge participants to "use the medium to its best advantage". Participants will work in three to four person crews to complete each film. Every participant will direct three films roating amon the key crew positions when their colleagues their direct their films. At the end of the course, the final films will be celebrated in a screening open to cast, crew, friends and family. All students who successfully complete the workshop will receive a New York Film Academy Diploma and a DVD copy of their film.
On weekends, several flea markets are open to the public in Seoul, where sellers display their used goods or handmade goods for sale. There are all sorts of goods, ranging widely in diversity and costs, anywhere from a 500-won T-shirt to hand-made hair ornaments or hand-knit hats.

The Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra will present a selection of French Music as part of its Masters Series Concerts. Among the works being performed are: Les trombeau de Couperin [Maurice Ravel]; Piano Concerto No.1 E minor Op.11 [Frderyk Chopin]; and, Symphony No.1 in C Major [Georges Bizet].
The HWRS-ERC is pleased to host the high-quality technical workshop program in the service robotics areas to provide an opportunity to experience on the new research trends and technology on human-friendly welfare robotics. The workshop will take place at KAIST, Daejeon, Korea.

The KAIST Islamic Society (KIS) was formed by Muslim students at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to provide a platform for Muslim students in Taejon to practice Islam with freedom. Another major objective of KIS is to perform Dawa'ha - an activity to call non-muslims towards Islam. 
The KAIST Judo Club is open for anyone [beginners, learners & masters] who wants to learn, practice and play Judo. 
The KAIST Times club is responsible for publishing the KAIST Times every two weeks. The purpose of KAIST Timnes is to let the staff, students and alumni of the Institute know what is happening with respect to staff, research and administrative matters.

Bittara is the KAIST club for people who are interested in taking and siplaying pictures.

The aim of the Activie Volcano Club is to provide opportunities for members to practice Taekwondo and develop friendships.

The Daejeon International Balloon Fiesta is an opportunity for visitors to see and enjoy hot-air balloons and aeronautical programs. The event has become a citizens' festival through the participation of the general public, and its visitor-oriented event programs offer many things to see and enjoy, especially the unique aeronautical attractions. The colorful grandeur of hot-air balloons is a great crowd-pleaser and visitors can even take a ride in a balloon.
Located at 396 Manyeon-dong, Seo-gu, in the heart of arts district in Daejeon, Daejeon Culture & Arts Center is housed in a five-story building with a total area of 100,000 square meters which includes B2, F3 with 40,774 square meters of total floor area.
KAIST Orchestra is a club which enables students to play classical music together in an orchestral context.
Didimdol is a volunteering club. While for 20 years Didimdol has taught children who need special care, there are a diverse range of volunteering programs they are involved with. All welcome!!
