The Humanities and Social Science Research Institute in pleased to host the presentation of a paper by Professor Shi Chung-Kong entitled "디지털로 소통하기" [Digital Communication]. Professor Shi teaches within the School of Humanities and Social Science at KAIST. In addition to language, he is also involved in research into logical thinking and expression through language, and directs the Logical Writing Program at KAIST. He is especially interested in intrinsic linguistic systems. He has written several books on this subject, including The Principle of Word-Formation in Korean, Generative Grammar Beyond Barriers, What is Argument Structure? which have resulted in an 'Excellent Academic Book Award' given by the National Academy of Science. Also interested in interdisciplinary research at the boundaries of language and computers, language and cultural technology, he served for several years as Deputy Director of the Korea Technology Research Center for Language and Knowledge Engineering.
